With an upcoming overseas trip, I’ve been starting to plan out what I’ll be packing, which also includes supplements and trying to keep as healthy as possible (while still enjoying myself too of course!) I love blended protein smoothies: they’re quick, tasty, filling and you can pack full of nutrients and goodies – perfect for travelling breakfasts/snacks!

I started to wonder if there were any portable blenders which I could potentially take with me for this reason, and thanks to the internet and Instagram’s miraculous/creepy mind reading powers when it comes to ads a I saw one pop up a few days later for a company called BlendJet.

Meet the BlendJet Portable Blender

The BlendJet Poratable Blenders looked like everything I was looking for – portable (obviously), they could crush ice and they also easily recharge via USB. As it runs off charge too, it also means you can easily use without a powerpoint while your one travel adapter is busy charging up your phone for the day ahead! So of course, I decided to try it out.

Product specifications/details:

  • Available in 7 colours: Black, Grey, Purple, Blue, Pink, Green & Hot Pink (I chose black)
  • Chargeable via USB port (cable included). The 2000mAh rechargeable battery makes 8-12 cups per charge. You can recharge via any USB port for 1-3 hours between uses.
  • Powered by a 7.4V motor with six stainless steel blades that reach 22,000 RPM and can crush ice.
  • Built in safety features which prevent the motor from overheating and the blades from spinning when the jar isn’t connected to the base.
  • Made from BPA free safe materials
  • Built in strainer lid attachment for filtering out excess pulp and “chunk free” drinks

BlendJet Portable Blender Review

My thoughts

My first attempt at using was a fail – I packed way too much (and in a bad order) as I’m used to using a larger blender. This also means that it also creates a smaller quantity, but also this size is obviously better for being compact and portable.

For my second attempt I was much more strategic about how much and the order I put everything in: ice cubes, some liquid, powders, followed by some more liquid with any room left over. This way worked so much better, and allowed everything to blend and mix in properly, without any powders sticking to the top. It blended everything really well and super fast too!

Cleaning is pretty straight forward: simply add in some water and a drop of cleaning liquid and run quickly. Obviously as it’s electrical you need to keep the base away from water, and as it can run simply via touch and without being plugged in you need to be careful of the blades too!

I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an on the go blender, or even one they can take with them to work, as it’s super quick and easy to use!

Here’s a video of me testing it out for the first time (minus the very first attempt fail!), making an iced matcha protein shake, recipe can also be found here!
